Arıklı: You Cannot Stop YDP With Slander

Arıklı argued that a systematic smear campaign was being conducted against him and his party.
In a written statement, he said certain circles were attempting to prevent the party’s rise through manipulative news reports, distorted statements and baseless accusations.
Arıklı claimed that allegations concerning his personal wealth were part of a perception campaign. He argued that property records published by a newspaper belonged to different members of his extended family rather than exclusively to him.
“Bringing together properties belonging to different members of an extended family and attempting to present them as assets acquired by me during my political career is not journalism; it is an outright perception operation,” Arıklı said.
Addressing what he described as the political exploitation of MP Talip Atalay, Arıklı recalled that it had been stated that Atalay had no links to a terrorist organisation.
“Talip Atalay is a valued comrade of ours. The efforts of those trying to turn past party congress disputes into political hostility today are futile,” he said.
Responding to those he accused of conducting the smear campaign, Arıklı declared: “You cannot stop YDP with slander. You cannot intimidate YDP through manipulation. You cannot prevent YDP from rising. Our strength comes from the trust our people place in us, and the will of our people will not be surrendered to any smear campaign.”
