The Finance Ministry has issued an announcement regarding government domestic debt securities (GDDS) auctions.

According to a statement by the Central Bank, the ministry will hold borrowing auctions on October 27, 2026, in Turkish lira and three foreign currencies.

The auctions are expected to raise 1.5 billion TL, $26 million, €3 million and £10 million.

FIVE SEPARATE AUCTIONS TO BE HELD

According to the Central Bank’s announcement, the 1.5 billion TL Treasury bill auction will have a maturity of 112 days.

Treasury bill auctions for $6 million, €3 million and £10 million will each have a maturity of 135 days.

A separate government bond auction will also be held for $20 million, with a maturity of 369 days.

Bids will be accepted from 10:00 to 12:00 on Tuesday, October 27.

FOREIGN-CURRENCY BORROWING TO BE CONVERTED INTO TURKISH LIRA

The announcement stated that the Treasury would convert the foreign-currency proceeds into Turkish lira through swap transactions to avoid assuming exchange-rate risk on the foreign-currency amounts.

Individuals and legal entities will be able to participate in the auctions through banks. Banks will submit their bids through the government domestic debt securities section of the electronic trading platform.

Coupon payments on the 369-day US dollar-denominated government bond are scheduled for April 30, 2027, and November 1, 2027.
